5 & 6 Year Olds - T-Ball Baseball - Boys and Girls

Dates and location:

T-ball plays/practices every Monday and Wednesday night, 5:30 p.m. sharp beginning on Monday, April 26. The season runs through the 3rd week of June and concludes with a trophy picnic. All the practices and games are held at West Street School.

At the first meeting on Monday, April 26, there will be a parents meeting. We plan to distribute uniforms that day, and weather permitting, there will be a practice.

Goal:

T-Ball is intended as an introduction of the very basics and fun of playing baseball.  T-Ball emphasizes the importance of camaraderie, teamwork, good sportsmanship and making new friends through baseball.

Also, take note of their first practice and keep it in mind at the end of the season. You will be amazed at how much the kids improve.

At the first meeting on Tuesday, April 27, there will be a parents meeting. We plan to distribute uniforms that day, and weather permitting, there will be a practice.

Goal:

9 & 10 Year Olds - Baseball Kid Pitch League - Boys Only

League:

We will compete in the Chicopee Parks & Recreation 9-10 North Division this spring.

Start dates:

The first practices for all players will be on Saturday, March 13, 9:00 a.m. and Saturday, March 20 at 9 a.m. in the High School Gym.  Be sure to bring your sneakers and glove ready to play.

At that time we will also be having a parents’ meeting, so parents please be sure to attend.

Season Schedule:

There will be 10-12 games beginning in early May and ending no later than June 30. The games for the upcoming season will be scheduled on various days of the week and there will be multiple practices throughout the season.  All the games are in Granby or Chicopee.

Goal:

The goal is for all the kids to have fun and to improve by playing. This is an exciting age group to be playing as it is live baseball on a 60-foot diamond – with real pitching – played entirely by the kids.  The GAA emphasizes the importance of camaraderie, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Tri-Town League

Season Schedule:

There will be 16-18 games (not including playoffs). Games begin in late April and continue through June. The games for the upcoming season will be scheduled on various days of the week and there will be multiple practices throughout the season.  There is travel involved.

Goal:

This age group is tremendously exciting as it is true competitive baseball on a 75-foot diamond.  With this said please know that while all will play, play time is not equal. These teams play very competitive and fun baseball which continues to focus on executing sound fundamentals and game situation strategy.

As always, we emphasize the importance of camaraderie, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

The GAA also emphasizes to all players, that baseball more than most sports, changes from year to year and the more you play the better you get. So regardless of which Tri-Town team you are on, you will be playing good ball, improving your game and most importantly, having fun.

Boys 13 - 15 Division - Boys 14 - 16 Division

We are hoping to field a 13-15 divisional team and a 14-16 divisional team.  Players are eligible so long as you are not 17 prior to August 1, 2009.

These teams are dependent upon having enough players, so talk to your friends and make sure they sign up.

Play on these teams is anticipated to begin at the end of the High School season and run through July 2009.  Players will be contacted toward the beginning of May as to the actual start dates and additional information. ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THAT TIME.

It would be great to have enough kids for more than one team at each level. If there are not enough players to field additional teams, however, we will have no choice but to make cuts. So let all players know to sign up now.
